About the event

The Inaugural Blue Butterfly Institute High Tea presents an opportunity for the Macarthur and Wollondilly communities to learn about what the Institute does for victims and survivors of sexual trauma, whilst supporting the development of new initiatives. All therapeutic services are donated to the Institute so that no one is unable to access early and vital support to empower their healing.    The afternoon will provide an opportunity to enjoy a beautiful High Tea at Rydges in Campbelltown, and to network with one another, whilst supporting a local NFP to continue to make a significant difference in the lives of survivors of sexual trauma, one in five Australians report. Sexual trauma is the silent epidemic.

Guests will be hearing from Founder and President of The Blue Butterfly Institute, Tina Meyer as well as Adam Holstein Founder “How You Going Mate?” A mental health and suicide awareness initiative.

ABOUT ADAM HOLSTEIN

Adam Holstein is a disability and mental health professional with over 25 years’ experience in the community sector. Adam has worked in a variety of roles including being a front line staff member and most recently working as a trainer for a registered training organisation that focuses on the disability sector. Adam is also an accomplished MC and presenter and has hosted events for organisations like MS Australia and SWSPHN and several other local charities.

In 2017, Adam started a mental health and suicide awareness initiative called “How You Going Mate?”. The aim of this initiative is to encourage people to check in on their friends and family who are managing a mental health issue. We call this Active Support for Mental Health. Active Support for mental health is about seeing an opportunity to give real, substantial and practical support to someone who needs it to manage their mental health and to give that support without waiting for them to ask for it or expecting them to ask for it. In 2019 he also started a podcast about mental health also called “How you going mate?” that has had over 17000 listens and has been listened to all over the world.
